Diabetes, a polygenic disorder characterized by abnormally high glucose levels in the blood is a syndrome of several metabolic disorders marked by excessive urination and persistent thirst. It is usually a combination of hereditary and environmental causes that defects the functions of hormones like insulin and glucagon from controlling the blood glucose levels in the body.

There are three different types of diabetes:

Type 1 Diabetes (inadequate insulin secretion).

Type 2 Diabetes (combination of inadequate insulin secretion and insulin resistance)

Gestational Diabetes (combination of inadequate insulin and response).

Although not being completely curable, Diabetes is been medically controllable since insulin was made medically available in 1921. The target of this treatment can only be close to bringing the blood sugar level to normal.

Signs and Symptoms

The classical symptoms of diabetes are

Polyuria (frequent urination).

Polydipsia (increased thirst and fluid intake).

Polyphagia (increased appetite) and

Excessive weight loss.

Diabetes proves to be a leading cause of death to that of cancer and other heart diseases subjecting its victims to gangrene and amputations besides contributing for micro-vascular (blindness, kidney failure and nerve damage) and macro-vascular (atherosclerosis leading to stroke and coronary heart diseases) diseases as a result of damaged blood vessels.

Diagnosis

Urinalysis (urine test) can diagnose diabetes by looking for glucose and ketones in the breakdown of fat; however this alone does not diagnose the condition. The following blood glucose tests are used to diagnose diabetes:

Fasting blood glucose test (above 126 mg/dL).

Oral glucose tolerance test (above 200mg/dL , 2hrs after a 75g oral glucose load)

Casual plasma glucose test (above 200mg/dL accompanied by symptoms, requires confirmation through fasting blood glucose test).

Treatment and Management

Diabetic awareness, appropriate diet and exercises, monitored blood glucose levels are very important in treating diabetes. Although there is no cure for Diabetes in the Medical World, there are various ways to treat it which include regular exercises, strict diet, weight control, foot care, medication like insulin etc…

Parents play a key role in ensuring their children meet the daily requirements of calcium intake, according to a recent report from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

The report also states that most children and adolescents are at risk for bone fractures and osteoporosis later in life due to low calcium consumption when they’re young. Three servings of low-fat milk, cheese or yogurt, or up to 1,300 milligrams of calcium depending on age, are recommended each day to build strong bones.

“Parents and caregivers often know the importance of calcium, but aren’t sure how to incorporate it into their child’s diet,” said Andrea Garen, a registered dietitian at Dairy Council of California. “Since dairy foods provide 70 percent of calcium in the Western diet, finding ways to include more dairy can make a difference in a child’s long-term wellness and bone health.”

Garen’s suggestions include:

Find ways to work more dairy into the diet: Offer a child yogurt or cereal with low-fat milk for breakfast, and string cheese and flavored milk as a snack.

Serve as a child’s role model: If good nutrition is important to parents, it will also be important to their children.

Insist on family meals: Eating together at home will help parents control what their children eat.

Garen added that the Dairy Council of California’s meal-planning Web site (www.mealsmatter.org) contains hundreds of free and easy-to-make, calcium-rich recipe ideas, including Chicken Crunchers. Parents can try this and other palate-pleasing recipes to help their children meet their daily calcium requirements.

Chicken Crunchers

Ingredients:

1 cup all-purpose flour

Salt

Pepper

4 Egg whites

1/2 cup milk

11/2 cups cornflakes

1 cup reduced-fat, shredded cheddar cheese

6 Chicken breast fillets; cut into strips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Set up three bowls with the following: 1) flour mixed with a pinch of salt and pepper; 2) an egg-wash, made by beating the eggs and milk together; 3) cornflakes mixed with cheese. Coat a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. Dip chicken pieces in flour, then into the egg-wash, then roll in the cheesy-flakes mixture. Bake for 25 minutes, turning halfway through to ensure even browning. Serve with ketchup, BBQ sauce or plain yogurt for dipping, if desired.

Total Preparation Time: 15 to 30 minutes.

Morning erection is an issue for which many old and young men are trying to find an answer. Sometimes or even very often, men wake up with an erection in morning. Morning erection is also called “morning wood” and the scientific term for morning erection is nocturnal penile tumescence. It is a normal and healthy physiological response. Generally, a normal can have 3 to 5 erections during full sleep and each could last for about half an hour.

What Causes Morning Erections?

A few people believe that a full bladder is responsible for a morning erection, which is not true. However, Acquisto Viagra treat the impotence, there is no firm and strong reason as to why a morning erections but one thing which is sure is that it is very closely related to REM sleep (when your brain changes its activity or during a during). Another reason for this erection is increased heart rate. Research is still going on this.

Cialis is the big competitor of viagra. A huge interest was vested in morning erection issue due to the erectile dysfunction. Researchers wanted to find a way out to the erectile dysfunction. If there is a man who is not getting a good erection then the first thing a doctor would analyze is his erection during the sleep. Doctor would observe if he is getting full erections during sleep or no.
Morning Erections and Medicines for Erectile Dysfunction

A morning erection can be a result of the erectile dysfunction medicines that includes Viagra køb and Cialis. Both Viagra and Cialis taken at the night may make way for the morning erections.

A morning erection is not a cause to worry about but if you are worried then you can always seek help of your doctor. Many factors add to the morning erection and it is usually a sign of sound mind, brain and physiological responses.

The question is why so many people are looking at their teeth to give them a brite smile and help them look and feel great about themselves. This pressure has been made worse by the constant glowing teeth you see on TV, films and glossy magazines. Mega stars all have white teeth and this creates the desire.

When you look at all those celebrities smiling away with dazzling teeth, you are sure to wish that you too had a set of equally shining teeth. Taking a look at your discolored teeth, you are sure to think that this is something that is far from your reach. However on the contrary, modern tooth whitening techniques has now made it possible for anyone and everyone to have a set of white, sparkling teeth.

It is through teeth whitening that it is now possible for you to whiten your teeth. There are various methods employed by different professionals for you to whiten your teeth; and one of these methods is through cosmetic tooth whitening.

Typically teeth gets darkened by day to day staining like coffee, tea, smoking, curry, blackcurrant, gravy and many more and over a period of time this then impregnates the enamel and darkens the teeth. Also as people get older the enamel loses its colour and also loses some of its depth.
Many teeth whitening techniques are constantly debated and analaysed for performance and customer experience but laser teeth whitening in the UK has become very popular due to the affordability and the fact it only takes on hour.

Teeth whitening is ideal for people who have healthy, unrestored teeth (no fillings) and gums. Individuals with yellow tones to their teeth respond best. But this cosmetic procedure is not recommended for everyone.

It is important to note at this point that our teeth have no uniform whiteness. Usually, the whitest teeth are the two front teeth while molars are generally two shades darker. A realistic goal for anyone wishing to have a whiter set of teeth is for the process to achieve its optimum level while retaining the natural look of white teeth.

Maintaining Your Whiter Smile is very important In order to maximize the longevity of your whitening treatment, it is important to maintain excellent oral hygiene (brush and floss after every meal) and steer clear of some of the more common causes of discoloration (coffee, tea, red wine, etc.).

To help avoid future staining, dentists often suggest using a straw, even with coffee and tea. Smokers wishing to undergo whitening treatment are advised to stop smoking in order to prevent the staining it causes. Discuss such considerations with your dentist during your initial whitening consultation.

Whatever you choose and lifestyle you lead at least there are some options to reverse your staining on the teeth and help you regain your smile and confidence.

Like the majority people who suffer from hemorrhoids, it’s likely you haven’t talked about it with anyone because you’re too embarrassed. So you’ve been quietly researching for information without letting anyone else in on your little problem. And now you’ve heard about Venapro and hemorrhoids and you’re wondering if it really works. Because after all, you need some relief and you need it now.

First of all, if you’ve been looking for information for some time then you might have already seen all the reports that say that you’re going to need to begin eating more fresh fruits and vegetables, you’re going to have to start drinking more water and you have to start getting more exercise. Those solutions are all well and good but they’re going to take time for you to adjust to, and, as we said, you need relief now.

About here is where Venapro comes in. Venapro for hemorrhoids supposedly provides assuagement in as little as 24 hours and, when used on a regular basis, for in some cases less than 3 to 4 months, various users report that their pain and swelling have completely disappeared.

Venapro for hemorrhoids is apparently efficient on both internal and external hemorrhoids and it’s concocted with all natural, homeopathic ingredients that guarantee it is safe for everyone to use. No uglyside effects have been reported even after using the product for extended periods of time.

The treatment however is in two sections. First curing the outer symptoms, and then treating the underlying causes. The second part, Venapro Colon Health Formula is also made with all natural fiber and helps in reducing the size of stools to make going number two smoother and more frequent. Health professionals often cite long term constipation as the most common reason for hemorrhoids. Venapro Colon Health Formula eliminates this problem naturally and once again, with little to no ill after effects.

If you’ve been a long-time sufferer of hemorrhoids but were too embarrassed to look for assistance, instead looking at where to buy Venapro might be a very appropriate solution, or if nothing else, a place to begin further research.

There’s a popular new weight loss supplement doing the rounds in the UK called Zotrim; claiming to allow the losing of weight as fast as 5% of body fat within 6 weeks. But does it live up to the hype? This article will look to examine the validity of these claims and more.

Zotrim is in the category of supplements that are natural, based on herbal and plant extracts, not requiring of any kind of prescription, and able to be taken without fear of harmful side effects. As we’ll find out shortly however, in the natural weight loss supplements category, it stands out for one big reason.

The ingredients of Zotrim are a combination of 3 natural extracts. They are Yerba Mate (an ancient plant with energy increasing properties), Damiana, and Guarana (a stiumlant, metabolism increaser, and more) and are combined in a orally digested supplement taken in daily doses.

Unknown to most, Zotrim has in fact been around since early 2000, so it’s not as “new” as it might seem. Different to many weight loss supplements (certainly ones with natural ingredients), Zotrim is backed by exactly 8 scientific studies attesting to it’s effectiveness in fast and easy weight loss in which participants were able to see results (amazingly) “without introducing changes to lifestyle”. Among these studies, there was one in which during a 45 day period, participants lost on average of 11lbs more than those on a placebo. Those are certainly impressive results for a non prescription supplement.

Zotrim also seems to stand out as being cheaper than some of it’s close alternatives; that same study in fact noting that taking this supplement, people were able to lose weight at a cost of about 4 pounds (cost) per pound (of weight) lost while similar supplements the cost was as high as 45 pounds cost per pound lost!

Zotrim seems to be a weight loss supplement definitely worthy of further investigation by anyone looking for quick results in a natural way. There are many places to buy Zotrim around the web.

Bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression, is a life-long illness affecting the chemistry of the brain. In classic cases, it causes severe mood swings from manic episodes of extreme highs to depressive episodes of debilitating lows, with relatively normal periods in-between. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, over 2 million people age 18 and older have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for bipolar disorder at this time. But as with any chronic illness, such as diabetes, heart disease or epilepsy, proper treatment, management and understanding of the illness is crucial. Most people with bipolar disorder can lead full, productive and satisfying lives by taking crucial steps to control and manage their illness.

Some key steps to consider if you or a loved one have bipolar disorder include:

1. Find a mental health professional you trust. A person diagnosed with bipolar disorder needs to establish a relationship with a trusted mental health professional where an open and honest exchange can take place.

2. Take medication as prescribed. This is first and foremost the most important step in taking control of bipolar disorder. It is the one element that needs to be strictly adhered to. In order for medication to work effectively it must be taken consistently and for the long term. It may be tempting to stop taking medication as symptoms lessen and one starts feeling better. However, this could have devastating consequences.

3. Reduce Stress. Mental health professionals typically believe that increased stress can trigger an episode of manic depression. Finding time to relax, sharing extra responsibilities, or simply talking to someone during a stressful event may help to bring on an increased feeling of calmness.

4. Do not become isolated. Do not try to “handle” bipolar disorder alone. Seeking out the comfort and understanding of family and friends is central to a person’s treatment. It can be very helpful to join a bipolar disorder support group because the people there understand the feelings and difficulties of living with the illness. They can lend insight and encouragement to a person confronting a diagnosis.

5. Maintain a healthy lifestyle. It is important to establish regular healthy routines such as exercising the same time everyday, going to bed at the same time each night and waking up at the same time each morning. Maintain a healthy diet and get plenty of sleep, because erratic sleep patterns can increase the symptoms of bipolar disorder. Do not use caffeine or recreational drugs.

6. Become an expert on bipolar disorder. Become involved in understanding the symptoms and treatment of bipolar disorder and the effects it can have on family and friends. Consult a qualified mental health professional with questions and concerns. Read books about the illness or listen to lectures by experts. Learn as much about bipolar disorder as possible because knowledge is a powerful tool in taking out the mystery of the illness.

7. Enhance life with enjoyable things. Make it a priority to engage in things that bring about feelings of joy, happiness, and accomplishment. Hobbies or activities that enhance a sense of peace or relaxation serve one well in dealing with the confusion of bipolar disorder.

A diagnosis of bipolar disorder does not have to mean the end of one’s world; rather it can be considered a new beginning. One that, at last, provides an explanation and ultimate relief from some of the unexplained and destructive behaviors a person might exhibit, freeing them to live rich and fulfilling lives.

Because people with high blood pressure do not usually have any symptoms until the disease has reached an advanced stage, high blood pressure is often called the “silent killer.” That is why having blood pressure checked regularly is important. The lack of symptoms is why some people who are aware they have high blood pressure do not take any steps to control and treat it. Because they feel okay they think everything is okay. But if high blood pressure is left untreated, serious problems may develop over time.

Uncontrolled high blood pressure can cause strokes. As high blood pressure causes a person’s arteries to get narrower and narrower, it is harder for blood to get to the brain. That can potentially cause blot clots in the brain, cause a blood vessel in the brain to leak, or cause a blood vessel in the brain to rupture.

Kidney disease can occur if high blood pressure is left untreated. If the arteries in the body are narrowed from sustained high blood pressure, the impaired flow of blood throughout the body can cause waste to build up in the blood because it is not getting to the kidneys often enough to discard all the waste products. As the waste builds up, it becomes more and more difficult for the kidneys to try and get rid of the waste, putting a big strain on the kidneys. This can cause the kidney functions to greatly diminish or even fail entirely. If the kidneys start to function at less than twenty percent of capacity, dialysis treatments will usually be needed. A kidney transplant would be an option to avoid having to get lifetime dialysis treatments if the person is a candidate for a transplant and a kidney becomes available.

Problems with a person’s eyes can also occur as a result of untreated high blood pressure, causing a loss of vision if it gets severe enough. High blood pressure can also lead to memory loss and dementia. Heart problems are another serious problem that can develop if high blood pressure is left untreated. The arteries in the heart can become hard and stiff from restricted blood flow, causing a condition called arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries).

It is common for people with untreated high blood pressure to have plaque accumulate in the major arteries of the heart. The plaque deposits reduce blood flow to the heart and can eventually cause a heart attack. High blood pressure narrows the arteries and blood vessels in the body. Getting oxygen rich blood to the heart becomes more difficult as the arteries get narrower. If the heart cannot get enough oxygen, it will cause a heart attack.
