The healthiest way of reducing obesity is by following a balanced diet accompanied with physical activities. A balanced fat free diet can supply sufficient energy to burn down the calories, thereby increasing the efficiency and metabolic rate of the body promoting weight reduction. Weight reduction is a slow process, set short term realistic goals and be rewarded on achievement.

Dietary Management Tips:  A healthy diet is healthy only when it is adopted considering the food preference and life style.

(a) Adopt a diet with high fiber foods, fruits and vegetables.
(b) Consume wheat products than rice. Avoid oily food and sweetened drinks.
(c) Take complete control over your eating habits. Avoid skipping meals especially breakfast.
(d) Avoid hasty food consumption. Adopt 3-4 simple meals than 3 large meals.
(e) Control sugar and meat consumption. Drink more water to keep body and skin fresh.

Behavioral Modification Tips:  Body and mind should be well prepared before going through eccentric changes.

(a) Eat to suppress hunger than desire. Avoid alcohol and food obsession.
(b) Get enough rest and sleep. Avoid siestas (nap in the afternoon).
(c) Set realistic goals in weight reduction. Weight reduction is a slow process.
(d) Take absolute control over depression and avoid eating when depressed.
(e) Avoid checking weight very often and comparison to a slimmer body.

Exertion Tips:  Physical and mental exertion is as important as healthy food for a healthy living.

(a) Incorporate simple measures like walking after dinner or using stairs than elevators etc.
(b) Warm up for 5 minutes before and after any physical activity.
(c) Exercise for at least 30 minutes to induce perspiration. Brisk walking, jogging and swimming are recommended.
(d) Adopt vigorous fitness plans than those that exhaust.
(e) Consume at least 2-3 liters of water a day.

Obesity is the corpulent condition of the body with an increased BMI (Body Mass Index) as a result of excessive food intake and lack of physical exercises. Although there are other cases of obesity with genetic and medical causes; those explained to be caused by the sedentary lifestyle are reported to be fatal associating with Diabetes, Cholesterol and other cardiovascular diseases.

Sedentary life style can be proved expensive, especially when it could cost a life. The victim off-guard to pay the price can be radically accessed by a weight reduction program that helps losing weight over a short term besides just creating awareness among the people. With obesity being one of the leading causes of preventable death; the ailment is often denounced with precautious dieting and healthy habits with extensive care failing which may require serious medical attention.
